Simpson Lab Work Covers JCI Insight

Congratulations to the Simpson Lab Research Team whose latest published work is featured on the Sept. 2023 cover of JCI Insight!

The paper titled, “Targeting SERCA2 in organotypic epidermis reveals MEK inhibition as a therapeutic strategy for Darier disease,” is authored by Shivam Zaver, MD, PhD, Afua Tiwaa, Research Scientist, and Cory Simpson, MD, PhD, in addition to collaborators from Penn and Michigan.

The cover image displays normal human skin stained to highlight proteins critical for epidermal integrity, including the desmosomal cadherin desmoglein 1 (yellow), which is linked to the keratin 10 cytoskeleton (magenta). Nuclei are stained with DAPI (cyan).
