Thomas Vincent, PhD, joins Simpson Lab
Thomas Vincent, PhD, recently joined the Simpson Lab as a research scientist in January 2026. Already familiar with UW and SLU, Thomas earned his PhD in Bioengineering at UW in 2025 and holds a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke.

His research background spans biomaterials, developmental biology, and translational tissue engineering, utilizing organoid models to understand kidney disease and regeneration. Thomas is excited to now apply his interdisciplinary training to dermatologic research. His primary role in the Simpson lab will be to explore the pathogenesis of Hailey-Hailey disease, a rare skin blistering disorder, in a project supported by the LEO Foundation. Outside of research, Thomas is a dog parent, an avid soccer player and backpacker, and a proud rare disease patient advocate.
